summer days

(Pie dough recipe blogged here)

My friday was filled with embroidery and homemade pie, a combination that suits me just fine. Kitties pitter pattering about my ankles as I mixed ingredients; flour on my arms and nose; the sweet smell of apples and cinnamon wafting in from the kitchen as I sat waiting in the living room stitch stitch stitching away.

There is so much to catch up on here on the blog...it's been harder for me to get back in the habit of it than I thought it would be. I have photos now of new projects, the wedding, recent antique finds, and summer adventures all waiting to go up as soon as i can get my rear in gear! For the time being, I've been busying myself with some items I am preparing to submit to a holiday show...I can't believe it's time to start thinking about holiday inventory already though!

Tonight though it's time to enjoy a bit more of summer...it's cooled off here which is so nice. the humidity that has been hanging in the air the past couple weeks just dropped right off this weekend so we've shut down the ac and thrown open all the windows to let the gentle breeze in which is lovely. And as I write this I can smell the neighbor's grill....uh, if only it wouldn't be weird for me to invite myself on over to their pool for dinner! Alas, I suppose I need to get down to the kitchen and start up our own dinner. What I wouldn't give for a rent-a-mom some days!

It IS nice to step away from the blog and enjoy real life every once in a while. That pie looks good.
