the luck dragon, take 2

well i did not win the sublime stitching contest with my handmade nation pillow entry. ah well, c'est la vive, eh? but i did finish a second pillow for our own home with another sublime stitching pattern and am proud of my work all the same, especially because i added a couple more new stitches to my repetoire!


he's a rather dapper fellow, dontcha think?! the symbols in the lower right are for good fortune and blessings which fit since the dragon is a symbol of good luck in china. as you can see in the first photo, i chose the colors to match our living room that is decorated with all sorts of asian antique pieces and centered around the oriental rug i inherited from my parents. they had gotten it shortly after they were married so it's an important piece to me even if it does have shadows of long ago tang spills! shh!
