all is well that ends well.

Embroidered TOMS

it was a busy but fulfilling weekend here in our corner of northern massachusetts. i am still knee deep in custom embroidery orders for christmas and also just finished these shoes. i have never done embroidery on a pair of TOMS but i think they may be some of my favorites thus far. the frustrating part though is that i don't know if i can ever embroider the toe area of these kind of shoes again, it was seriously painful to get my hand and the needle way down in there and consequently took a lot longer than normal. They were so narrow that i had to tie my knots on the outside and use a clear fabric sealant to ease my paranoia about them coming undone. all is well that ends well though, right? i know my bride will love how they turned out and that is what matters at the end of the day!

there is still no snow here which is a huge bummer and highly irregular, especially seeing as how all my family and friends in the midwest from minnesota to chicago and michigan are covered in the stuff and are having snow days galore, the lucky little twerps! like most, i don't relish driving in it, but it would certainly bring a lot of cheer to my day compared to this yucky greyness out my workroom window.

there has been good news on the horizon though...very good news! on friday night i sat down at the computer to check in on my facebook (ok, yes it is a little sad to admit that's what i was doing on a friday night...but let's just quickly move past that, ya?) and as soon as i refreshed the page i saw my very own embroidered chucks come up in my newsfeed from CRAFT Magazine! They'd posted them on their site and on their facebook thanks to a blog post from Feeling Stitchy! O the wonders of the internets never cease...i think i must have screamedsquealedscreached because my husband came bounding up the stairs asking me what was wrong, haha. i had a grin on my face the rest of the night and it was such amazing motivation to help me dive back into my work for the rest of the weekend!

That is awesome! A nice surprise indeed!
We had flurries in Alabama but it didn't stick at all yesterday and we are spending Christmas in Florida, so no white Christmas expected here.
The tOMS turned out great even though they were a challenge!
