a very happy new year to each and every one of you! i hope you were able to enjoy some lovely celebrations over the holidays with friends and family...we certainly did in this neck of the woods!

and since we have just turned the bend to greet the new year, it is now time to say a fond farewell to my etsy shop geschichtenvonkat as the big move gets underway! i have been looking forward to this move for a while but will also be a little sad to see the ole place go, sniff! i'm not yet set on a closing date but i have opened up the new shop, called the story of kat, and I hope you will visit me there as i fill it up with lovely new items over the next month!

hiking on the shores of walden pond in concord, mass.

it was a wonderful holiday weekend for us here in massachusetts and i hope it was for you as well wherever you gathered with loved ones! we enjoyed a tasty feast, good company, and some quality down time. we got our tree up and even got to do a bit of adventuring around the area which turned out to be a great day of hiking around the ridgeline of thoreau's walden pond. thoreau is a pretty big hero of mine and my sister so it was a beautiful and meaningful experience to be there..and on such a gorgeous day too!

sales are going well in the shop this cyber monday so i am a happy camper sitting here eating my leftovers, listening to brenda lee christmas songs, renewing items, and attempting to get new ones listed. would it be too much to ask to have every monday be this lovely?

has it really been so long since i last posted?! o my...you know how life happens occasionally and i'm afraid my blogging got pushed onto the back burner. I began a second job, i got sick; we went on vacation, i got sick; we adopted a new kitten, my fiance got laid-off, i started working more hours at work, we started plans for moving, and i got sick again. gee whiz!

we are still in good ole dc for now but will be making a move at the end of this october. and we don't know where yet which can really leave one feeling stressed the heck out if you're trying to plan for it and also trying to plan your wedding (which you really can't do at all because there's no way to say where it might be!!). le sigh.
